2018 recap: Skuid events that rocked this year.
While we love to connect digitally with our customers and other people interested in Skuid, there’s nothing like face-to-face interaction.
That’s why we store up our frequent flier miles and send Skuid enterprise app specialists jet setting around the world to hang out with the people who will end up doing amazing, inspiring things with our product.
As 2018 comes to a close and we gear up for 2019, check out just a few of the events we got to attend and host this year.
Skuid hosted 13 Build-an-App Workshop events across the globe.
From Honolulu to London, we sat down with Skuid enthusiasts to guide them through the process of building an enterprise application, in less than one day, without writing code. Participants walked away with a deeper understanding of drag-and-drop app development, and how they can use Skuid’s no-code platform to achieve their business goals.
Skuid customer presented at the Higher Ed Summit event.
As more higher ed institutions like Berklee College of Music and World Maritime University embark on successful digital transformations with Skuid, we were thrilled to showcase their stories at the Higher Ed Summit.
Erik Ponnert, IT Program Officer at World Maritime University, gave a brilliant presentation about how universities can easily integrate data from multiple sources and create highly personalized apps using Skuid—and proved it with his own success story.
Skuid at Salesforce events:
Salesforce developers were some of Skuid’s first customers back in the day, so they hold a special place in our hearts. We loved sharing how Salesforce users can use Skuid to migrate to Lightning faster, and maximize its value once they get there.
Dreamin’ with the Salesforce community
Salesforce users are some of the most fun people to not only hang out with, but dream and build with, too. From London, to Texas, to the Midwestern U.S., we partnered with #awesomeadmins and Salesforce MVPs to help them create what they imagine.
Touring the world
When Salesforce tours the world, we like to occasionally tag along. This year, we hit up the Salesforce World Tours in Boston, NYC, and London to demo the power of the Skuid platform.
Last but not least, we worked hard and played hard at Dreamforce 2018. A quick rundown of the fun:
- Skuid customers like AXA, BHGE, and GolfNow gave awesome presentations and demos about how they’ve used Skuid to reimagine their enterprise applications and maximize their organizational impact.
- We hosted multiple packed-out Build-an-App Workshops and a couple of captivating parties at the Skuid Lagoon, our home-away-from-home all week.
- We unveiled Skuid Spark, our most powerful release yet.
Skuid at the Oracle Collaborate event
One week was all we needed to be inspired by the creativity and tenacity of Oracle users, and we couldn’t wait to show them how they could use Skuid to connect to any data, and transform their Oracle user experience without writing code.
Skuid at the Forrester Digital Transformation event
We joined Forrester in breaking down the phrase “digital transformation,” into bite-size nuggets, so that CIOs, CTOs, and CDOs could put the pieces back together and form a strategy that works for their business.
Bryan Gauch, Senior Manager of Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service Practice at Accenture, spoke about how HPE built the Digital Seller solution for the Pointnext business unit to accelerate their pivot to all things digital. They did all of this in four months, with limited code and BIG data, using Skuid.
Skuid at Gartner events:
We enjoyed getting technical with some of the hardest workers in the biggest companies around the world, plus brainstorming with Gartner analysts about the future of enterprise application development.
Gartner Symposium/IT Expo
Does it get better than Disney World? We didn’t think so. That’s one of the reasons we headed down to Gartner Catalyst, which took place this year at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
In addition to giving demos at our booth, we also hosted a VIP Lunch with a show! Michael Barnes, director of Salesforce.com administration at GolfNow, shared the inspiring story of how GolfNow turned a sub-par experience into a hole-in-one with Skuid.
Gartner Apps Summit
The Gartner Apps Summit took place in Las Vegas this year, where we talked with attendees about application modernization, customer experience, digital transformation, and cost optimization But this time, what happened in Vegas won’t stay in Vegas. We’re excited to see the people we met try Skuid for themselves.
