To walk a mile in a typical Salesforce user’s shoes, I decided to work for a day in my Sales Operations role using standard Salesforce pages. Until recently, I had not experienced anything other than the Skuidified version of Salesforce.
As most Skuid customers know already, I was in for quite a shock. But I now have a new appreciation for the pain most Salesforce users feel, and would like to point out how you, particularly if you do sales operations, can dramatically relieve your pain with Skuid. Here are my top five tips for improving sales operations with Skuid.
Tip 1: Find stuff faster with filters
If you are like me, you start your day wanting to scan all opportunities in the invoiced stage. In Skuid, you just click on the Opportunities tab and tap a filter button to show the opportunities in the Invoiced stage.
And you don’t have to create (yet another) List View to see other stages, close dates, types, or owners. Just select different filter criteria (even multiple filter criteria) and your list refreshes dynamically.
As an added benefit, you can edit any record inline, no need to hop to another page. Just make your simple changes and save. Skuid is simple, elegant, and saves precious time.
Tip 2: Organize with tabs

In standard Salesforce, when you hop to an Opportunity detail page, you see a long scrolling list of related objects and data. All that data on one page can be overwhelming to navigate, even for experienced users. With Skuid you can quickly organize all of this information into tabs.
You will only see the information you want to see, when you want to see it. Sounds simple, but it really is an amazingly refreshing improvement. If you are like me, it will change your life, or at least improve your mood.
Tip 3: Batch edit records without leaving the page

This Skuid feature saves me hours per month. If I was a salesperson, I would point out that this feature alone is worth 10x the price of Skuid. In standard Salesforce, batch editing can be quite time consuming.
To mass edit records with Skuid, you just click the edit icons on table records, make your changes (staying on the same page) and click Save. Even better, you can just check all your records, use the Mass Edit action, and change a value on all your records at once.
Easy In-line and batch editing is mission critical in sales operations, and Skuid makes it so easy.
Tip 4: Create renewals with one button
In the SaaS business, renewals are the lifeblood of a company. So when an opportunity is Closed Won the work is just beginning. Renewals can be tricky to create and track in standard Salesforce. But with Skuid, you just create a magic Renewal Opportunity button.
With Skuid’s conditional rendering feature, the Renewal Opportunity button can be set up to automatically appear when an Opportunity status changes to Closed Won. Once visible, clicking the Renewal Opportunity button can launch a pre-populated form in a pop-up.
The action can carry over subscription amounts, but not Professional Services. It can clone multiple items and change dates based on your own rules. It’s amazing. In my case, I can create a Renewal Opportunity with two clicks. That’s it.
Tip 5: Personalize your pages on the fly
Salespeople are a very different species than sales ops people. So we shouldn’t have to use the same user interface. So don’t. With Skuid, you can have your own sales ops UI that shows you what you need.
With Skuid Page Assignments, you can deploy different pages to different user profiles. What do you wish you could see instantly when looking at your opportunity or account page? With Skuid, your admin can drag and drop the elements into your pages with the click of a Save button, and it’s deployed.
So nice. So convenient. So efficient. No code (or waiting) required. My conclusion? For sales operations folks, Skuid is the cheese to Salesforce’s macaroni. The jelly to their peanut butter.
Why would you have one without the other? It just doesn’t make sense. If you’re doing sales operations on Salesforce, just Skuidify it! Want to learn more? Get a live one-on-one demo!
