I'm thrilled to announce that Skuid is expanding our leadership team, with the addition of Ryan Niemann as our next CEO. In my new role as chief strategy officer, I will work closely with Ryan to shape the strategic direction and growth of Skuid.
This process began two years ago when Marlin Equity Partners purchased a majority stake in Skuid. Before the transaction, they confirmed that I planned to continue at Skuid as CEO. I assured them that I was “all in” and would stay as long as it was the right thing for our customers and the company. In full transparency, I also suggested that it might be time to find someone with more experience leading a growth-stage company.
During the growth stage, it’s very common for founder-led companies to expand their leadership team to ensure continued growth. For a thriving company, a transition like this is a positive indicator of health and growth. Like many founders, I’m great at launching things. I’m an idea person who loves to create something totally new from scratch. Over the past eight years, I have done just that. Together with the founding team, I launched and grew Skuid based on the lofty ideal of humanizing enterprise software. Thus far, it’s been a wonderful and successful journey complete with the requisite growing pains and challenges of two economic downturns. To successfully scale Skuid from where we are today, however, demands a new and different set of skills.
My strengths include casting vision, creative problem-solving, and culture-making. But I needed a partner who has worked alongside a founder to scale a company—someone with broad-based skills in cross-functional execution. So with Marlin, we set out to find the right partner who could join me and lead Skuid to achieve our human-centered-software vision.
After a long search, I am excited to introduce Ryan Niemann as the next CEO of Skuid. Ryan’s passion and skill set align perfectly with the Skuid culture and growth needs. I am fully confident Ryan will help us accelerate our strategy so that even more organizations across the globe can experience greater app adoption, innovation, and agility. Ryan will make a significant, positive impact on our employees, customers, and shareholders by:
- Loving and protecting the culture we have built.
- Providing keen insights on organic and inorganic growth.
- Bringing deep experience inside and outside of the Salesforce ecosystem, having led a successful Salesforce independent software vendor (Cirrus Insight).
- Building deep and extensive relationships with global systems integrators and partners.
Ryan is extremely qualified to step into the CEO role at Skuid, plus he’s simply a great person. I look forward to working with him and learning from him.
In my new role, I will work closely with Ryan and continue to play an integral role in the future of Skuid. I will continue to lead the R&D teams, including product, software engineering, and technology operations. So after helping Ryan execute his first-100-day plan, I will focus the bulk of my attention on product innovation, leading new long-term initiatives, and exploring additional growth strategies. My daily presence will continue to be felt across Skuid and with our customers. I’m truly stoked about our future.
