“The latest CrunchBase data has 71 different categories and subcategories to track startup CRM investments. They range from data integration startups specializing in CRM systems to analytics, visualization and vertically-designed CRM systems for telecommunications and other industries.
The 71 categories used for organizing CRM startups in the CrunchBase data are the basis for finding the top 25 CRM startups. Starting with the entire base of CRM startups in their database, the first filter of selecting only those actively operating was enabled.
Doing this thinned out the data considerably as many CRM startups have been acquired or exited via other strategies including IPOs. Next, only startups with three funding rounds or less were included. After applying these filters, a total of 119 startups remained.” Read more here...
