Steribright is a biosafety technology company dedicated to providing safe indoor environments through rich data sets that are used to inform decision-making and enable reductions in operational carbon. They needed to monitor thousands of Steribright IoT devices, track sterilization, air quality, and bill according to each clients service levels agreement. After extensive research, Steribright realized there wasn’t an out-of-the-box software solution with a robust application layer that had all the functionality they needed and most importantly could be built rapidly.

They turned to Sentia, Skuid, and Salesforce to create a world-class package that provided critical data and insights for customers, allow timely monitoring, billing and servicing each Steribright unit in the field.

The Challenge

Steribright created a best-in-class, completely autonomous smart sterilization IoT device that does air cleaning monitoring and surface sterilization in one micro-sized system. They needed to create a platform from which they could effectively manage thousands of IoT devices broadcasting real-time data from around the globe. The platform also needed to provide customer functionality while also maintaining a strong governance backbone for the internal team that could scale quickly.  

The product development team at Steribright required a solution that would provide real-time views of air quality data by location and notify customers if safe levels were exceeded. The platform also had to be able to manage and commission the thousands of devices being sold and installed worldwide and provide notifications whenever units needed to be serviced or replaced.

Sentia’s team was chosen to provide a solution to help Steribright manage all of these challenges while providing a custom user experience for different personas within Salesforce. It also had to be built in record time, with a proof of concept deployment in 16 weeks. The solution had to be scalable, and provide Steribright with predictive analytics and streamlined commissioning business processes.

The Solution

To solve these challenges, Sentia utilized its flagship product, the Sentia smart layer, built on top of the Salesforce CRM platform and powered by Skuid. The Sentia smart layer provided a customizable solution that could be tailored to meet Steribright’s unique requirements while also adhering to international standards and privacy regulations.

The platform was designed to scale rapidly, handle the ingestion and visualization of real-time data from thousands of Steribright IoT devices deployed globally. Sentia's custom dashboards allowed Steribright's customers to manage their account and view valuable information in real-time. It also provided a custom user experience for different personas within Salesforce.

Sentia used smart notifications and intelligence to manage and commission the thousands of devices sold and installed worldwide. This allowed Steribright to deploy and manage their devices effectively, with attention given to specific customers and their units when required. The Sentia smart layer also provided custom formulas and logic based on global air quality standards, making it easy to view and interact with smart alerts.

The Result

The result of Sentia's efforts was a cutting-edge platform that effectively addressed all of Steribright's challenges and provided real-time visibility and management of their IoT devices with a beautiful Skuid-based interface that clients love!

The platform was developed in record time, with a proof of concept deployment in 16 weeks. This was achieved through Sentia's design approach and the flexibility of the Skuid platform.

In the future, Sentia's platform will provide a complete 360-degree view of the supply chain, from the factory to deployment, and through inventory and ERP integration. This will provide Steribright with predictive analytics and significantly streamline commissioning business processes.

In conclusion, the platform built by Sentia using Skuid on Salesforce provided Steribright with a flexible, scalable, and customizable solution that effectively addressed all their challenges, providing real-time visibility and management of their IoT devices, supporting smart sterilization, and providing their customers with valuable information and insights.
