The Skuid relationship with Salesforce.com
Skuid Sites and services are hosted by Salesforce.com®. Therefore, you may also want to review the Salesforce.com Privacy and Security Policies.
Why we collect personal information and how we use it
Session-based cookies exist only during one session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. If you have chosen to identify yourself to Skuid, we use session cookies containing encrypted information to uniquely identify you. Each time you log into a Skuid Site or Service, a session cookie containing an encrypted, unique identifier that is tied to your account is placed on your browser. These session cookies allow Skuid to uniquely identify you when you are logged into our Services and to process your online transactions and requests. Session cookies are required to use Skuid services. Persistent-based cookies remain on your computer after you close your browser or turn off your computer. Skuid uses persistent cookies that only we can read and use to identify browsers that have previously visited our websites. When you purchase services or provide us with personal information, a unique identifier is assigned you. This unique identifier is associated with a persistent cookie that Skuid places on your Web browser. Skuid is especially careful about the security and confidentiality of the information stored in persistent cookies. For example, Skuid does not store account numbers or passwords in persistent cookies. If you disable your Web browser’s ability to accept cookies, you will be able to navigate the Skuid websites, but you will not be able to successfully use Skuid services. Skuid may use information from sessions and persistent cookies in combination with data about our customers to provide you with information about our company and services.
How we use web beacons
Web beacons may be used alone or in conjunction with cookies to compile information about customers and visitors’ usage of Skuid websites and interaction with emails from our company. Web beacons are clear, electronic images that can recognize certain types of information on your computer, such as cookies, when you viewed a particular website tied to the Web beacon, and a description of a website tied to the web beacon. For example, Skuid may place web beacons in marketing emails that notify the us when you click on a link in the email that directs you to one of Skuid’s websites. Skuid uses web beacons to operate and improve our websites and email communications. When you opt-in (sign up) for a newsletter or agree to receive email, we may use a “click-through URL” to track links that you click. We may associate that data with your personal information to provide you with more focused email communications. Skuid email communications include an unsubscribe link allowing you to stop delivery of that type of communication at any time. Skuid may use information from web beacons in combination with customer data to provide you with information about Skuid and our services.

Skuid will not review, share, distribute, or reference any customer data except as provided in your Master Subscription Agreement, or as may be required by law. In accordance with the Skuid Master Subscription Agreement, Skuid may access customer data only for the purpose of providing Skuid services, preventing or addressing service or technical problems, at a Customer’s request in connection with customer support matters, or as may be required by law.
Security is our top concern
Skuid uses robust security measures to protect customer data from unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and help ensure the appropriate use of customer data. When Skuid services are accessed using Internet Explorer version 7.0 or later, Firefox version 2.0 or later, or Safari version 3.0 or later, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects customer data using both server authentication and data encryption. These technologies help ensure that customer data is safe, secure, and only available to the customer to whom the information belongs and those to whom the customer has granted access. Skuid implements an advanced security method based on dynamic data and encoded session identifications, and hosts its websites in a secure server environment that uses firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. Skuid also offers enhanced security features within our services that permit customers to configure security settings to the level they deem necessary. Customers are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of their usernames and passwords. Because Skuid uses our own services to maintain data about Skuid customers, this information is secured in the same manner as described above for customer data. For more about security, please visit the Security page on the Skuid website.
